Magnolia Texas Public Services

City of Magnolia - Incorporated in 1968, the City of Magnolia is a General Law, Type A city and operates under the city manager-council form of government.

The Magnolia City Council consists of five elected council members and an elected mayor. All members and the mayor serve for two-year terms. The legislative body is elected at large by voters residing within the boundaries of the Magnolia city limits. City elections for open positions are held in May.

After spending $2.5M on a new home, the City of Magnolia Texas has officially moved back into city hall on Buddy Riley Blvd. For the past five years, the City of Magnolia was been forced to use temporary buildings outside the city limits on FM1488.  The new address for the City of Magnolia offices is:

            The city of Magnolia Tax rate is currently 8.25%

 

U. S. Post Office - The Magnolia Texas Post Office is located in the downtown area of Magnolia.  For your convenience, outside you'll find a drive-up mail box. Inside you will find dedicated postal clerks and supplies you may purchase to help you with your mailing needs.  They also have various sizes of mail boxes to rent.  The hours of operation are Monday - Friday 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and Saturday 9 A.M. to 12 Noon.

A little trivia; Ben Franklin was named the first Post Master General by the Continental Congress in 1775.
